On May 5, 2024, Culture Goes Europe (CGE) hosted a group of apprentices from Suhl for an engaging educational game session at Saline34 in Erfurt. The afternoon was part of CGE’s ongoing efforts to create meaningful learning experiences for young people through play, participation, and reflection.

The group was introduced to a game-based activity designed to simulate real-world civic and social challenges. Working in teams, participants stepped into the roles of different community actors, grappling with dilemmas that required negotiation, creative problem-solving, and a shared sense of responsibility. Whether imagining ways to improve local spaces, debating priorities, or collaborating across interests, the Azubis brought energy and thoughtful perspectives to the table.

The session encouraged reflection on themes such as decision-making, communication, and how young people can take an active role in shaping their communities. For many, it was a new experience—learning through doing, discussing, and imagining together.Set in the welcoming environment of Saline34, the session also fostered connections between peers, combining fun with thought-provoking content. By the end of the day, participants had not only explored different ways of thinking about local change but also gained tools and confidence to bring those ideas into the real world.

This event is one of many that reflect CGE’s commitment to youth empowerment and civic engagement—using innovative, hands-on methods to spark dialogue and inspire action.
