My name is Mirna, I am 23 years old and I am Spanish-Syrian.
I studied International Relations and have been working in the humanitarian field, especially with refugees, since 2023. Through my work with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), I gained experience in case management, child and youth support, awareness sessions, and community protection. These experiences helped me grow personally and professionally, and they strengthened my passion for social work and youth empowerment.
I have always been very interested in volunteering, non-formal education, and intercultural exchange. I enjoy working with young people, supporting vulnerable communities, and creating safe spaces where people can grow and feel included. I also love languages, traveling, and discovering new cultures.
When I found the ESC opportunity with Culture Goes Europe, I immediately felt connected to their mission and values. I am very happy to be part of CGE, to support their youth and community projects, and to learn from an international team.
During my time here, I hope to contribute actively to the organization, develop new skills, engage with the local community, and share multicultural experiences with others. I also aim to improve my German language, understand German culture better, and grow both personally and professionally through this volunteering journey.
Mirna is engaged in CGE within the Community Goes Europe 7 project. The project is funded under the European Solidarity Corps program of the European Union.
