Eleventh Session of Business Skills Program – Social Impulse Academy: Workshop on Funding and Financing your Business // TASK4ISI

On Tuesday, 31 March 2026, the Social Impulse Hub hosted the eleventh session of the Business Skills Program, continuing the practical learning journey of the Social Impulse Academy with a workshop on Funds and Funding entrepreneurial ideas. Facilitated by Miriam Köhler, a coacher from the incubator “neudeli” from Bauhaus University (Weimar), the online session enabled entrepreneurs to become acquainted with the various forms and types of fundings and how to conciliate their business ideas and aspirations with the available options and procedures in Thüringen and in Germany. This workshop was primarily aimed at those startups and business that are in the pre-seed phase – the initial stage of the startup.

The session began with participants sharing about their countries of origin and a short description of their startup idea, allowing the facilitator Miriam Köhler to understand what kind of entrepreneurial aspiration participants had and warn participants about possible difficulties in findings funds due to their Visa status. This brief introduction led to the presentation of the session’s program, with three main themes, namely: types of funding, available funding opportunities and recommendations based on Miriam Köhler’s expertise.

During the session, it was possible to understand the heterogeneity of fundings types, the ways in which they can set up in business and their ideas, as well as about what kinds of funding the entrepreneur can ask for, that depends on their needs and the characteristics of their business ideas. Since having access to funds and acquire the financial resources to keep in motion the business, the facilitator provided relevant information about the basic requirements for requesting funding in Germany and about specific institutions that provide not only guidance but also incubate and finance startup ideas of students but also aspiring entrepreneurs.

To finalize the workshop, Miriam Köhler provided valuable recommendations, warning participants to take note of their current situation and the procedures they may attend in the moment of asking for funding. Finally, entrepreneurs had the opportunity to clarify pending questions about the topic.

The project has been co-funded under the Interreg Central Europe program of the European Union through the project “TASK4ISI” – Transnational Action to advance Skills and Competences for Inclusive entrepreneurship and Social Innovation.
