When I think about volunteering I think about those things that make me happy. As a volunteer you meet a lot of enthusiastic people from all over the world, people who love what they’re doing. As a volunteer you learn new things every day. Volunteering gives you opportunity to see new places and let you know more about our world. It’s changing your view of life and finally it changes your life.

The volunteering experience is one of the most valuable, life-changing and growing experience you ever can have. It is the time when you learn something new every day – about the country where you are involved in ESC project, about cultures of people you are sharing your experience with, about being active in the society, implementation of projects and, eventually, about yourself. You not only meet other volunteers from different countries, travel to new cities and countries, work on your ideas with great people and develop your skills – you get to know more about your own values, believes, about needs of community and how you can contribute to it. You collaborate with colleagues that also believe in open-mindedness, active citizenship, life-long learning, and you grow – both in the field that interests you and as a person.

The decision to become a volunteer was definitely one of the best I have ever made, the experience is truly enriching and inspiring, I couldn’t be happier! Volunteering is much more than helping others, it’s about expanding your horizons and learning new skills, it’s about challenging yourself and departing to a new country, it’s about tearing down walls and building bridges. You get to share yourself and your culture and, in return, you get to know dozens of other cultures through some amazing people. You dedicate yourself to your ideas and beliefs and are given the opportunity to work on them, to make them come alive. You become, indeed, an active worker for the community. As an experience, volunteering is truly overwhelming, I highly advise it.

Every day I spend here I realize that I made the right choice when deciding to be a volunteer. Working with the team at CGE is providing me with very valuable skills and knowledge that will be useful for my career and my everyday life, but it is also helping me understand that I shouldn’t take everything for granted and it is important to get out of your comfort zone and experience new things. I feel very lucky for having the chance to get to know wonderful people and cultures, which will definitely enrich me and give me the chance to become a better version of myself.

Volunteering is great way to visit different countries and become familiar with different cultures. Such experiences always expands my viewpoints and enrich me with new knowledge. Also, voluntering is a very good way to express a true belief in a cause you are volunteering for. It means that you are ready to contribute to the community without receiving monetary compensation for it. I believe that volunteering, if taken seriously, is a selfless act.

I wanted to experience something diferent, I have been studying the last four years non stop my bachelor degree. Voluntaring in an NGO is an amazing time to get some time off, i want to rethink a lot what i want to do next  year. At the same time i have always wanted to be part of an NGO and learn more about public policy.

I love working with young people as they are very energetic and enthusiastic. The only challenge they have is the experience. I am planning to provide them with as many intercultural and integrative experiences as possible so that they can contribute to their surroundings.
