The PM4I team, alongside the dedicated Placemaking Ambassadors, embarked on a one-of-a-kind experience with our Wandering Living Room event. On the 26th of August, we roamed the streets of Erfurt, and on the 27th of August, Weimar had us as its guest! This event is also a Multiplier Event for Placemaking4inclusion project.
Visitors from all walks of life gathered, and something magical unfolded as migration stories took center stage. The living room, transformed into a vessel of stories, became a place where individual voices intertwined, weaving a tapestry of shared experiences that resonated with us all.
As the event unfolded, we witnessed a beautiful mixture of cultures, emotions, and stories. Each tale became a captivating and inspiring story.
The Wandering Living Room served as a canvas for the incredible diversity of migration experiences. From those who had crossed continents to live in Germany, the stories shared were a testament to the human spirit’s resilience and adaptability. Some tried to define home, which was another challenging thing to do.
We were migrating our Wandering Living Room along the city to get more and more people to see those stories. Along the way, we were met with interesting gazes, curious expressions and some amazing people. There were things that didn’t go according to the plan, but at the end, it turned out just well. It was like a living experience of migrating!
Our sincere gratitude goes out to every participant who opened their hearts and shared their migration journey. Those stories have become an exhibition of not just movement, but of courage, hope, and the pursuit of a better life!
