On Tuesday, January 6th, our volunteers took part as the Tuesday Night Event of the studienwerk. Every Tuesday, they invite people to present their country of origin and cook a special recipe. Those events took place at the International Café in the University of Erfurt.
Our volunteers, Ishak and Mathis, with the help of Linda have prepared a presentation about their country (France) and a meal (tartiflette and crepes for the dessert). The presentation went through the stereotypes of French people, the history and geography of the country, the French flag, some culture and heritage around sports and music, gastronomy.
At the end of the presentation, they had prepared a kahoot to test the audience about what they’ve learned through this small presentation. The winner won a special prize, a saucisson (a typical French product) to enjoy between friends.
Then, the meal was served everyone has the opportunity to try the tartiflette (melted cheese with potatoes and cream) and a crepe served with Nutella or sugar. This friendly event brought together more than 40 people from at least 10 different nationalities.
At the end of the presentation and during the meal, they took the opportunity to present our organizations and explain to the people what do CGE.
