We are excited to launch the Youth Sail project, a new long-term initiative aimed at empowering young people and strengthening the role of non-governmental organizations across Kyrgyzstan.
Implemented by Culture Goes Europe e.V (CGE) in partnership with local organizations (Public association “ALGA”; Public foundation “Positive dialogue”; Public foundation “Atuul”) and supported by the European Union, the project will run over a period of 36 months. Its main objective is to foster active civic engagement by supporting both youth and NGOs in building sustainable structures for participation and collaboration.
The project is built around two interconnected programs. On the one hand, it offers a training pathway for young people aged 18 to 30, through which they develop skills as trainers in human rights education via a combination of camps, online learning, mentoring, and practical experience. On the other hand, it includes a capacity-building program for NGO staff, focusing on organizational development, cooperation with youth trainers, and long term sustainability.
By combining individual learning with organizational support, Youth Sail aims to create a strong network of engaged young people and resilient organizations. Special attention will be given to regional inclusion and to supporting youth and women across the country.
Looking ahead, this project will create new opportunities to strengthen civic participation and foster lasting connections between young people and civil society actors in Kyrgyzstan.
