Youth Opportunities Event at Schmalkalden University // SoftSkills4Democracy

On January 29th, 2025, Schmalkalden University hosted an engaging three-hour event focused on opportunities for active youth participation.

What We Covered

The event began with an informative presentation on various ways young people can get involved, including:

  • Youth Exchanges – What they are, where to find them, and how to identify quality opportunities.
  • Training Courses & Youth Participation Projects – How to apply, improve acceptance chances, and understand participant rights and benefits.

Following this, we introduced Solidarity Projects—exploring funding opportunities, project goals, and their impact on communities.

Hands-On Experience

Participants were divided into small groups to brainstorm ideas for local Solidarity Projects in Schmalkalden. The focus was on initiatives that foster community cohesion by bringing together locals and internationals.

Each group presented their ideas, received feedback, and, of course, enjoyed some well-deserved pizza! 🍕
