Community Goes Europe 3: Meet Sofia Sá

Olá. My name is Sofia, I am 26 years old and I’m from Portugal.

I am a qualified tourist guide with a degree in Tourism. I am interested in culture, history, art and languages. I love to travel and seek new challenges.

During my formation and after the degree I looked for different experiences, related to studies and work. Outside my hometown, I had the opportunity to live in other countries, and meet new people, make new friends, learn new languages and cultures.

In addition, I am always interested in volunteering, non-formal education and youth empowerment. This engagement to volunteering started with scouts, where I participate as a scout leader with a group of youngsters, with ages between 14 and 18 years old.

This year I was looking to participate more actively in volunteer projects, and it’s when I found Community Goes Europe 3: Together We Are Stronger.

I am really happy to cooperate with the non-governmental organization CGE, and develop new activities and projects.

I want to participate in the community, get involved and share multicultural experiences, and other opportunities that we can have with European Solidarity Corps or other volunteering projects.

I also hope, with this volunteer project, to learn more about German language and culture; to achieve new knowledge and skills and be able to share that with others.

Sofia Sá is an ESC volunteer at CGE Erfurt e.V., doing her volunteering from November 2020 till 2021, as part of the project “Community Goes Europe 3: Together We Are Stronger”.
