Carla is working with CGE Erfurt e.V. for one year as an ESK Volunteer within our Community Goes Europe 4 project! Read below to find out about Carla’s background and motivation to begin her ESK!
Hi, my name is Carla, I´m 26 years old and I´m Argentinian and Italian.
I did my bachelor’s in History in Buenos Aires, and after graduating, I worked as an academic researcher and high school teacher. I also volunteered in some local NGOs about conservation and the environment. I really enjoy working in the third sector as I see it as an opportunity to spark a change in society through social action and education.
In 2020, I moved to Hungary to pursue a master’s in Regional Development and Environmental Economics. During my postgraduate studies, I took part in some Erasmus+ trainings and, since then, I decided I wanted to learn more about non-formal education and mobility projects cofounded by the European Commission.
When I met CGE team in a training course at the beginning of 2022, I got very interested in their organization, their fields of action, and the international projects they were developing. After finishing my master’s, I apply to work with them through ESK program.
I feel very proud of being an official part of the team. From the beginning, the team involved me in the organization of very interesting projects, ranging from local events to international long-term projects, and encourage me to develop my own projects as well. Furthermore, they gave me an opportunity to continue my training as a facilitator within non-formal education.
The working environment is super friendly and professional and hard-working at the same time, something that I find super exciting. I am looking forward to continuing to learn about the design and implementation of international projects that involve research in various fields and non-formal education methodologies.
