Garden for Small Creations Workshop // Youth4Biodiversity

On 16th July, participants of the Youth4Biodiversity project came together once again for a follow-up action at BNE-Garten, Petersberg in Erfurt. Building on the ideas, values, and environmental awareness developed throughout the project, the day offered an opportunity to reconnect with nature while making a tangible contribution to a local green space.

Hosted by Annemarie and her dedicated team, the workshop combined hands-on environmental activities with creativity and community spirit. Participants took part in a series of creative workshops inspired by nature. They handcrafted fragrant lavender bags, built small bee houses to provide shelter for pollinators, and created decorative pieces that will be used to help restore and beautify the garden’s pavilion. These activities highlighted how creativity and environmental action can go hand in hand, demonstrating that even small contributions can have a lasting positive impact on shared community spaces.

Beyond the practical work, the day provided plenty of opportunities to connect, exchange ideas, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the garden. Working side by side encouraged collaboration and reminded participants that environmental sustainability is strengthened through collective action and community involvement.

The workshop concluded with a well-deserved shared meal, where participants enjoyed homemade herb butter served on fresh bread, prepared using herbs from the garden. It was a fitting end to a day filled with learning, creativity, and cooperation, leaving everyone inspired to continue supporting biodiversity and community-led environmental initiatives long after the project had ended.
