Community Goes Europe 7

This enriching experience, surrounded by multiple cultures, allowed me to understand the importance of non-formal education and to deepen my knowledge of the world of NGOs.

About the project

Community Goes Europe 7 is a European Solidarity Corps (ESC) volunteering project hosted by Culture Goes Europe (CGE) Erfurt e.V., a non-profit organisation in Erfurt, Germany. It gives young people from across Europe the chance to live and work abroad while contributing to solidarity, social inclusion, and community development through practical volunteering activities. The project supports local communities by organising events, cultural activities, youth work, and initiatives that promote European values such as cooperation, respect, and solidarity. Volunteers are involved in outreach, communication, intercultural exchanges, and activities that address social challenges, helping both local people and themselves grow personally and professionally through teamwork, intercultural learning, language skills, and civic engagement. The experience also enhances empathy, openness, and practical skills that are valuable for future careers. The project is part of the broader European Solidarity Corps programme, an EU initiative that funds volunteer experiences for young people to make a positive impact in society while developing their own skills and confidence.
