Third Session of the Business Matchmaking Program – Social Impulse Academy: First Customer Erfurt // TASK4ISI

On Monday, 4 May 2026, the Social Impulse Hub hosted the third session of its First Customer Programme, part of the Business Matchmaking Programme (TASK4ISI). Led by Osman Sajid from StartUp Migrants, the online session continued exploring what it really takes to turn an idea into a business.

This time, the session delved into one of the most important early steps: building a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). In simple terms, that’s the first workable version of a product—just enough to test whether people actually want it. Participants also learned how to start thinking about sales, from understanding the customer journey to figuring out who their ideal customers are and how to reach them. A big takeaway from the session was that successful businesses aren’t just about having a good product—they’re about building trust. Clear communication and understanding customer needs were highlighted as key ingredients for long-term success.

The programme itself puts a strong emphasis on personal support. Throughout the process, participants get the chance to discuss their ideas, receive feedback, and gradually improve their concepts. In this session, they took a closer look at their value propositions—basically, what makes their idea worth choosing—and compared them to what’s already out there in the market.

Another interesting point was the difference between a product’s features and its value. While features describe what a product does, value is about why it matters to the customer. Getting that balance right can make all the difference. The session also touched on teamwork and strategy—like how assigning clear roles can make a team more effective, and how different sales approaches (direct vs. indirect) can be used depending on the situation. Real-world examples helped bring these ideas to life.

To wrap things up, participants joined one-to-one mentoring sessions, where they could ask questions, get advice, and fine-tune their business ideas.
