As the digital transformation is proceeding at full speed all round the globe, we believe that digital education is increasingly becoming a prerequisite for a successful working life and is also a requirement for our self-determination and general evaluation capabilities.
According to the German Digital Strategy 2025, in the ICT sector alone, there are currently 40,000 open positions. The White Paper on Digital Platforms of the Economic Affairs Ministry of Germany claims, that digitalisation will open up potential additional cumulative added value of 425 billion euros in Germany.
In response to these upcoming realities new qualifications, combinations of qualifications and, correspondingly, new training content are necessary for successful transition. Therefore, CGE Erfurt e.V. believes that it is crucial to train not only own staff, but also educators, trainers and facilitators closely working with the organisation, offering possibility to gain profound ICT competences and knowledge in basic robotics.
Together with our longstanding partner in Cyprus, Emphasys Centre, we developed “Culture Goes Digital”, which is tackling the above mentioned issues and provides trainings for the outlined target group.
The project foresees implementation of four activities:

Already from August 25th, the first group of CGE staff is going to visit the Empahasys Center to learn best practices from partner organisation in the filed of administration, project personnel management. The job-shadwoing is followed by a training course in November, which will concentrate on teaching basics of robotics to the trainers within the CGE network.
We are currently looking for participants who are interested in acquiring skills in coding and knowledge in robotics. The learned skills can then be incorporated into new projects. The training course uses the tools from non-formal education in connection with social activities and workshops.
